Open Position

Consultant / Implementation Lead

Full-time • Remote (EMEA)

About the Role

LinuxGuard is seeking an experienced Consultant / Implementation Lead to join our growing team and help enterprise customers get the most out of our Linux security platform. In this role, you will serve as the primary technical point of contact for a portfolio of enterprise accounts — conducting Linux identity and security audits, leading platform onboarding and implementation, and providing ongoing strategic advisory services.

You will work at the intersection of deep Linux systems expertise, security consulting, and customer success. You will need to be equally comfortable spending a morning reviewing a customer's PAM configuration and an afternoon presenting audit findings to a CISO. This is a senior individual-contributor role with a clear path to leadership as the team grows.

Key Responsibilities

Linux Identity & Security Audits

  • Conduct in-depth assessments of customer Linux environments, covering user and group management, sudo policies, SSH configurations, PAM settings, and privilege escalation paths.
  • Identify misconfigurations, over-privileged accounts, and violations of least-privilege principles across server fleets.
  • Produce clear audit reports with prioritised, actionable findings and remediation guidance mapped to CIS, NIST, SOC 2, and ISO 27001 controls.

Platform Onboarding & Implementation

  • Lead end-to-end onboarding of enterprise customers onto the LinuxGuard platform, from initial scoping through agent deployment and configuration tuning.
  • Customise baseline suppression profiles, compliance frameworks, and alerting rules to match each customer's environment and risk appetite.
  • Collaborate with customer engineering teams to integrate LinuxGuard data into their SIEM, ticketing, and observability toolchains.
  • Develop and deliver runbooks, training sessions, and self-service documentation that enable customers to operate LinuxGuard independently.

Client Relationship & Advisory

  • Act as the trusted technical advisor for a portfolio of enterprise accounts, providing ongoing guidance on Linux hardening, identity visibility, and compliance posture.
  • Run regular check-ins, health reviews, and strategic roadmap sessions with customer security and engineering leaders.
  • Surface customer feedback and requirements to the LinuxGuard product and engineering teams to inform the platform roadmap.
  • Support pre-sales engagements by delivering technical demonstrations and proof-of-concept deployments alongside the sales team.
Requirements — Essential

Linux Systems Expertise

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience administering Linux systems (RHEL, CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, or similar distributions) in production environments.
  • Deep knowledge of Linux user and group management, file system permissions, sudo, PAM, and systemd.
  • Solid understanding of SSH configuration and key management best practices.

Identity & Access Management

  • Practical experience with LDAP / Active Directory integration on Linux, including SSSD, PAM-LDAP, and Kerberos.
  • Familiarity with privileged access management (PAM) tools and least-privilege implementation patterns.
  • Experience auditing and remediating over-privileged accounts and excessive sudo rules.

Security Auditing

  • Ability to conduct structured security audits of Linux configurations against industry benchmarks.
  • Experience using open-source or commercial tools to assess Linux security posture (e.g., Lynis, OpenSCAP, or similar).
  • Comfortable reading and interpreting kernel audit logs, syslog, and eBPF-based telemetry.

Compliance Frameworks

  • Working knowledge of at least two of: CIS Benchmarks, NIST SP 800-53, SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, or DORA.
  • Experience mapping technical controls to compliance requirements and producing evidence for auditors.

Client-Facing Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts clearly to both technical engineers and business stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of managing customer relationships in a consulting, professional services, or customer success capacity.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple accounts simultaneously, and deliver high-quality work under deadline pressure.

SaaS Platform Experience

  • Experience onboarding or implementing SaaS security or observability tooling in enterprise environments.
  • Comfortable working with REST APIs, configuration files, and cloud-based dashboards.

Scripting & Automation

  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Bash, Python, or similar) for automating audit tasks and deployment steps.
Requirements — Desirable
  • Experience with eBPF-based security tooling (e.g., Falco, Cilium, Tracee, or similar).
  • Familiarity with container and Kubernetes security in Linux environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud provider IAM (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and how it intersects with Linux workload identity.
  • Experience with SIEM platforms (Splunk, Elastic, Microsoft Sentinel, or similar) and log ingestion pipelines.
  • Security certifications such as RHCE, RHCSA, OSCP, CEH, CISM, or CISSP.
  • Background in a high-growth security start-up or scale-up environment.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary and equity package commensurate with experience.
  • Fully remote role with flexible working hours across EMEA time zones.
  • Direct impact on the direction of a fast-growing security product used by enterprise Linux teams.
  • Collaborative, security-obsessed engineering culture with a flat hierarchy.
  • Home office equipment budget and co-working space allowance.
  • Access to industry conferences, training, and certification reimbursement.
  • 25 days of annual leave plus public holidays.
